Periodontal Plastic Surgery

Periodontal plastic surgery is a part of oral surgery that deals with the restoration of the function and aesthetics of the affected periodontal tissues (gum tissue, periodontal ligament, and the bone that supports your teeth or an individual tooth).

It includes:

  • Treatment of gingivitis (root coverage)
  • Elongation of the visible part of the teeth for prosthetic or aesthetic reasons (ulectomy)
  • Increase of the size of the gums
  • Sinus Lift
  • Restoration of lost interdental papilla
  • Socket preservation, a procedure to reduce bone loss after tooth extraction
  • Increase of the alveolar ridge deficiency (GBR – Guided bone regeneration)
